Patriotic Fan: This 4th of July fan is a great way for seniors to celebrate the holidays while keeping cool.

This fan is made from a paper plate folded in half and trimmed with craft scissors. Step One: First, fold your plate in half and make a small hole in the center bottom of the plate along the fold. Stick your craft stick through the hole, and hot glue half of the craft stick inside the plate to make the handle. 

Step Two: Next, hot glue both sides of the paper plate together for your seniors. Step Three: Have your seniors paint both sides of the paper plate with patriotic red, white and blue stripes using acrylic paints. Paint one side of the fan first and let it dry, and then paint the other side of the fan and wait for both sides to dry. Step Four: Once your fan has dried, have your seniors decorate the fan with Patriotic scrapbook stickers. Step Five: Finish by painting the fan with a coat of clear glitter glue to make it sparkle!
